This house is a "landmark" of the Barrio Lastarria, located on the corner of José Victoriano Lastarria with Villavicencio, it was built in 1912 in Neocolonial style by the architect Ernesto Ried Silva. It was one of the first in Latin America to use this style as a tribute, free and avant-garde, to colonial architecture. The stone base is striking. This is due to the usual overflows of the Mapocho River at that time, raising the house. In addition, the gallery was projected on the third floor, from where the Santa Lucia Hill, the neighborhood and the horizon are contemplated. The house was known for many years as "The Cultural Observatory", since in the neighborhood lived great personalities of culture, such as Luis Orrego Luco, the naturalist Philippi and the architect Emil Jecquier. It was recovered by Álvaro Flaño and is today a milestone in the renovated Lastarria Tourist-Cultural District.

Foal running in watercolor 56 x 38 cm. Sold.
At last I was able to advance another little in this painting that shows the horses leading the heifer ... scene captured in my mythical way to Santa Elba. I am happy with the progress ... in a paper made for drawing where the watercolor behaves very different I have mixed it with achurado and the effect is captivating. 100 x 70 cm It will be large format. #criaderosantaelba #caballos #caballochileno #horseart
